Applications go through the Public Property Compliance team at streetpermit@london.ca, submitted at least 7 days before the container is placed, with roughly 7 business days needed for city review. Occupancy longer than 30 days requires a licence agreement under Schedule 1 of the city's fees by-law, and security deposit amounts are set case by case.

By-law WM-12 requires the boulevard next to a property to stay clear of waste and sets rules for where receptacles can be placed. The by-law carries enforcement penalties, so a rented bin should stay contained within the permitted footprint rather than spilling debris onto the boulevard.

London lists renovation-material disposal at its EnviroDepots by load size rather than by tonne, with attendants able to assess larger loads by volume. Check the selected depot’s hours: W12A EnviroDepot at 3502 Manning Drive closes at 3:45 p.m. on weekdays and 2:45 p.m. on Saturdays, while the other listed depots have later hours.

W12A Landfill tipping fees run on a weight scale, from $8 for loads under 100 kg up to $75 per tonne for anything over 1,000 kg, with business waste billed at a flat $75 per tonne. EnviroDepot renovation waste is priced by load instead: a $40 minimum, $75 for a car or SUV load, and $100 for a truck, van, or trailer load, paid by credit or debit only.
