Dumpster rentals in Regina

The City of Regina doesn't require any permit for a bin kept entirely on private property. A temporary street use permit is only needed if the bin has to sit on city property, such as an alley or parking lane, during construction, repair, or demolition work, and that permit tops out at a 10-day placement and can't block a posted no-parking or no-stopping zone.

Requests for a temporary street use permit go through Service Regina, either by phone at 306-777-7000 or through the city's online service request form, and need to be submitted at least 14 days before the bin is due to arrive. Once approved, the permit comes with an associated fee, and any hazard from falling material needs to be flagged with barricades, cones, or rope barriers.

The City of Regina's landfill sits on Fleet Street, north of McDonald Street in the northeast quadrant of the city. Summer hours, starting in late April, run seven days a week from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; winter hours drop to Monday through Saturday with Sundays closed, and the gates close at 5:15 p.m. to allow time to finish dumping.

Under Regina's schedule effective January 1, 2026, standard waste and rubble cost $10 for loads of 200 kilograms or less; heavier loads are charged at $95 per tonne, prorated. Scrap metal and shingles are listed at $95 per tonne. Asphalt, concrete and crushed granite are free only when they meet the City's quality and size requirements. Asphalt and concrete must have no garbage and less than 20% clay, dirt and gravel; concrete also has reinforcing-steel and slab-thickness limits. Crushed granite pieces must be at most 12 by 12 inches. Clean fill has its own quality limits and is listed at $2 per tonne, with residents paying no charge up to 1,000 kilograms. Confirm load eligibility before hauling.

Wet loads with standing liquid aren't accepted at the Fleet Street landfill under any circumstance. Asbestos, potentially contaminated soil, animal carcasses, and other noxious materials all require a Special Waste Disposal Permit arranged ahead of time through specialwaste@regina.ca, and asbestos specifically carries a $400-per-load charge on top of the standard tonnage rate.

Sorting can reduce a Regina disposal bill when the separated materials meet the landfill's acceptance rules. Free asphalt and concrete loads must meet cleanliness limits, concrete has steel and slab specifications, and free crushed granite is limited to pieces no larger than 12 by 12 inches. The clean-fill category also has size and contamination limits, with a no-charge allowance up to 1,000 kilograms for residents. Compare the applicable category with the standard waste rate and confirm your load with the facility before dispatch.
