The City of Burnaby's Temporary Container Placement permit covers any bin, dumpster, or trailer placed on a street, roadway, or boulevard. The fee runs $17 per day plus a one-time $113 administration charge. Applications go in through the city's online permit system at least 5 working days before delivery, alongside a site plan showing exact placement and a minimum $2 million liability insurance certificate naming the city as co-insured. Containers can't sit within 15 metres of a crosswalk or 6 metres of a lane or driveway, and lane placement isn't permitted at all.
