The Township of Langley requires a Highway Use Permit for work on or use of municipal roads and rights-of-way, which covers placing a rented bin on a street rather than fully on private land. Applicants need proof of at least $3 million minimum in third-party liability insurance (higher for heavy-equipment work) naming the Township as additional insured; contact Township Engineering for the current application fee.

The City of Langley, separate from the Township, sets its own street and boulevard rules apart from the Township's Highway Use Permit. Confirm with the city directly which municipality your address falls under before applying, since using the wrong permit process can delay delivery of the bin.

The Langley Recycling and Waste Centre is at 1070 272nd Street in Langley Township. Its visitor guide lists paid garbage, clean wood, yard trimmings and gypsum recycling; used gypsum requires special preparation. Monday–Saturday hours are 8 a.m.–5 p.m. from October through March and 8 a.m.–6 p.m. from April through September. Sunday and holiday hours are 9 a.m.–5 p.m.; it closes December 25 and January 1.

Langley Recycling and Waste Centre's July 1, 2026 schedule lists ordinary non-municipal garbage under 1 metric tonne at $182 per tonne, with a $167 load cap.
